about

This EP is rigorously raw, heavily filtered and fundamentally f-cked. It transmits earth's core reverberations on a wave of infinite delays.'Machine IV' is where dub meets doom terminally, and where baselines bend your spine irresistibly... It's literally massive.

The most implosive of the machine volumes thus far, 'IV' amplifies the sound of mechanical cross talk, where lost souls are trapped in tyrannical, mechanical loops, endlessly... as The Bug targets the floor dictatorially. Perhaps, the dankest, deepest, most haunted transmissions yet, in the futuristic dub odyssey K-Mart is currently promoting, these dancehall weapons are as resonant as they are punishingly physical

Certainly, the lowest yet, in terms of subsonic frequency and covert atmosphere.... This quartet of tracks are dense and hypnotic, tense and robotic ..Distant echoes of past Martin projects like King Midas Sound/G36/Zonal, may provide hints as to the possible origins of the monolithic sound contained herein. But the overall impression instills eerie, recurring memories of long  slo-mo nights spent being sonically overwhelmed at Valve / DMZ raves or Jah Shaka dances, These tracks will certainly satisfy an addict's insatiable craving, for the worship of monstrous sound systems and behemoth bass....The mood is dread, the sound is dreader still... Melodies are buried, harmonies are smudged, as filth is systematically again celebrated in Martin's wonderfully warped realm.

Written to coincide with, and drop at The Bug/Flowdan's 'ATONAL' appearance in Berlin, Sept 2023, Its now, immersion time.

End times need a soundtrack to prep for what's above and below, and this is it. ... more
